Blonde Ambition

Ive always been one of those people who whinges and complains about their hair but does nothing about it. I have been dark brown for the majority of my life. I try to mix it up every now and again - chocolate brown, medium brown, chestnut but each time it always ends up looking the same - dull brown.

As I come from an Italian family Ive always thought that I was restricted in what I can do. Olive skin doesn't suit just any hair colour. I decided that despite my entrenched belief that I would look ridiculous with any other colour, I decided to face my fear and attempt to go lighter. Especially since my winter wardrobe resembles a crowded room at a funeral. To my delight, the transition was relatively painful, hey I even liked the lighter brown and thought it brightened my face. But then to my horror, I washed it, looked in the mirror and saw red. Investigating under every light in the house only to confirm that I yes I indeed had red hair.

(Lucky natural light wasn't so harsh)

So after more researching and talking to family and friends, lamenting about my carrot top head, it was decided I needed a blonde tone to counteract the natural red that comes through brown hair. This has led me to ask the question, 'me? as a blonde?' Maybe not, but perhaps I can find a happy medium. I have now looked at every celebrity hair colour under the sun for inspiration and it has become official, I have a fat girl crush on Jessica Alba.

Hopefully I have better luck in round two....

A Passage to India

I was very fortunate to spend my weekend getting a little taste of India as I celebrated one of my friends wedding. I've never seen a more beautiful bride and I was overwhelmed with the love, tradition and spirit of all that were there.

Looking forward to day 5 tonight.

Here's a little glimpse of the bride in a traditional Sari and my attempted version of Bollywood.
